Welcome to the USS Ascension!

Fortis Fortuna Adiuvat- Fortune Favors the Bold

Welcome to the USS Ascension! The first of the Ascension-class Dreadnoughts, the Ascension is one of the most advanced and most powerful vessels ever built by Starfleet. Rated for combat, exploration, scientific, diplomatic, and logistics missions, the 1,600 member crew is dedicated to serving at the forefront of Starfleet and the Federation. The Ascension is also unique in that it serves as a training vessel for the finest of Starfleet Academy’s cadets. Under the command of Commander Samuel Reynolds and closely monitored by the Academy, these cadets, and the crew alongside them, plan to tackle the most challenging of Starfleet’s missions.

Join the USS Ascension as it bravely serves as Starfleet’s vanguard and staunch defender!

Current Mission:
Mission 01: Trouble in Transit

The USS Ascension, freshly launched from the PFY, begins its long transit to the Delta Quadrant by setting course for the Raeyan Transit Corridor, the buffer zone between the Romulans and the Kilingons that leads straight to the Fourth of July Nebula. However, disaster strikes the ship as critical systems fail, causing the crew to have to rush to repair them, a sitting duck to those that wish to harm them.

To those celebrating holidays over the next few days, Merry Christmas, Happy Kwanzaa, and happy (very belated) Hannukah! I wish you good fortune, surrounded by those you love, and that you never experience writer's block!

As such, there will be no expectation of activity during the break. However, come January, be looking for details of our first mission as we journey to the Delta Quadrant!

Hi all,

As we embark on this adventure together, I wanted to let you know of a few things, and remind you of a few items, as well.

First off, please check your tags. Many of you have outstanding tags from the summer, or haven't had a chance to post in the main mission yet. Please keep on top of these, as it's the only way for us to move forward. The more you are able to contribute, the more I will be able to provide for you all.

To that end, I've created the first cadre of NPCs for use by all. I gave general descriptions and mindsets, but feel free to customize them as you wish, if one speaks to you. I can roleplay any of the already created NPCs to create a JP, if you wish.
In addition, feel free to add any NPCs that you've used/would like to use. The Ascension only comes to life if we allow it to.

Once we launch, I have several B story beats available to players. I will request that each player either select one of these, or create their own, so that characters can start to take shape within our universe. More on that later.

Finally, a reminder to recruit! Though I'm attempting to use every resource available to me, my options are somewhat limited. In addition, the most effective way is by word-of-mouth! There's a lot of potential available both through the Ascension's traditional crew, and the cadet corps. Let's promote it!

Questions/Comments/Concerns? Let me know.

Andrew muttered about meetings, moving quickly around PFY as his son Alex was able to keep pace with him. He glanced down at his PADD, "so much to do, so little time to do it."

Alex moved in front of him, pointing to a Docking Port before running over excitedly.…

Commander Samuel Reynolds stood vigilant as the door of the observation lounge opened, allowing him a view of the bridge. He had worked diligently to ensure that the crew was ready for their mission, and then suddenly...that mission had changed. The original mission, a quick jaunt around the Beta Quadrant,…

Nico strode along the corridor, eyeing the finish on the walls as he went. He was trying to develop a feel for the way this crew worked, probably not set in stone yet as they had just come together. He thought about the size of the ship as well, the…

"For the last time, no," Natasha told the taller, dark-skinned woman. It was 0500, three hours before the Ascension was scheduled to be launched, and Natasha was stalking around the maintenance deck, right below the flight deck, making sure everything in her bailiwick was secured. Technically upon the initial launch…

Mission: Maiden Voyage

It's said the SFMC has the most traditions of any department or branch in Starfleet, borrowed from over a few dozen worlds scattered across the Federation and beyond.

If this is true, the fighter pilots of Starfleet run a very close second.

Lieutenant Natasha Busiek had her own personal tradition,…

Captain's Personal Log- Stardate 65150.9

As of this moment, I have been placed in command of the Ascension. That's a sentence that I wouldn't have thought possible when I first accepted this assignment, let alone when I rejoined Starfleet four years ago. My goal had been to teach the next…

This may be true, but Seneca…

Executive Officer's log, supplemental.

I am beginning to settle into my new position, and my new office. On a ship as large as the Ascension, it's both convenient and curious that my office and quarters are only one deck away from the bridge. To be honest, I might have preferred…
